In 1961 verwierf de Tianjin Watch Factory beroemdheid in China door het eerste militaire horloge te vervaardigen. Ze kregen daarna de belangrijke taak om het eerste Chinese luchtvaarthorloge te maken voor de Chinese Volksbefrijdingsleger Luchtmacht, bekend als Project “d304”. Om dit te realiseren reisden ze naar Zwitserland, waar ze patenten en machines bemachtigden van de Zwitserse chronograaffabrikant Venus voor het Venus 175 kolomwiel-chronograaf.

Na jaren van experimenteren begon de productie van het officiële Chinese luchtmacht-horloge in 1962 en werd afgerond in 1963, wat de naam van het horloge inspireerde. Het hedendaagse Seagull 1963 Blue Panda Sport Edition is een moderne uitvoering van dit historisch belangrijke horloge, met een sportieve uitstraling die het oorspronkelijke ontwerp respecteert.

De Ziel Van Het Horloge

Het ST19-uurwerk, een eerbetoon aan het gerenommeerde Zwitserse Venus 175-uurwerk, kent een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot het midden van de 20e eeuw. Het wordt vervaardigd door de Tianjin Watch Factory met behulp van originele machines uit de jaren vijftig en volledig met de hand geassembleerd. Het uurwerk bevat 21 juwelen en beschikt over een robuuste gangreserve van 42 uur.

Wat het geüpgradede Seagull ST19-uurwerk bijzonder maakt, is de Blue Swan Neck Regulator. Deze zwanenhalsregulateur maakt een verfijnde afstelling van het uurwerk mogelijk, wat resulteert in een uitzonderlijk nauwkeurige tijdweergave.

The vintage design looks super slick and it's clear that a lot of care and attention to detail went into the creation of this timepiece. I just wanted to own a piece of history and with this funky version of the seagull, I felt like it was the perfect combi for me of a watch that's based on the historic 1963 but with a new fun twist. The stainless steel case feels sturdy and well-built, and the mechanical movement is both reliable and accurate after a few months of using it so would so I'm happy with this
