How to Use the Chronograph on Your Seagull 1963 Watch (ST1901 Movement)

⏱️ Built to Measure Time—Precisely

The Seagull 1963 isn’t just beautiful—it’s functional. Powered by the hand-wound ST1901 movement, it includes a fully mechanical chronograph feature that lets you time events with vintage precision.

Here’s how to use the chronograph the right way—without damaging the movement.

▶️ Step 1: Start the Chronograph

To begin timing, press the top pusher (P1).
This starts the red chronograph seconds hand, which begins sweeping smoothly around the dial.

🔍 Inside the case, the mechanical gears engage with every press—a rare treat for watch lovers.

⏳ Step 2: Track the Minutes

As the red hand completes one full revolution (60 seconds), the right subdial (minute counter) will tick forward.

✅ This subdial counts up to 30 minutes of elapsed time, perfect for timing short events or tracking intervals.

⏹️ Step 3: Stop the Chronograph

To stop timing, press the top pusher (P1) again.
The red hand and the minute counter freeze, showing your recorded time.

🔁 Step 4: Reset (But Only After Stopping)

Once stopped, press the bottom pusher (P2).
This resets the red chronograph seconds hand and the right subdial back to zero.

⚠️ Never press reset while the chronograph is running. Doing so can damage the mechanism.

⚠️ One More Tip: Power Reserve Drops Faster

While running the chronograph, your Seagull 1963 will use up its power reserve more quickly.
If you're not actively timing something, it's best to stop the chronograph to conserve energy.

⌚ Own the Experience

The chronograph isn't just functional—it’s a window into mechanical watchmaking.
Each click, sweep, and reset tells a story of craftsmanship that quartz watches just can't match.
