UNA BREVE STORIA

Nel 1961, la Tianjin Watch Factory acquisì notorietà in Cina per aver creato il primo orologio militare del paese. Poco dopo, ricevette un incarico di grande prestigio: sviluppare il primo orologio da aviatore per l’Aeronautica dell’Esercito di Liberazione Popolare, conosciuto come Progetto “d304”.

Per realizzare questo progetto, gli ingegneri cinesi si recarono in Svizzera, dove acquisirono i brevetti e i macchinari dal produttore svizzero di cronografi Venus, in particolare per il movimento Venus 175 a ruota a colonne.

Dopo anni di sperimentazione, la produzione ufficiale dell’orologio da aviatore iniziò nel 1962 e si concluse nel 1963, dando origine al nome Seagull 1963. L’edizione Blue Panda da 42 mm rappresenta un omaggio moderno e sportivo a quell’iconico orologio militare, una reinterpretazione contemporanea di un pezzo storico che un tempo adornava i polsi dei piloti cinesi.

L’ANIMA DELL’OROLOGIO

Il movimento ST19, omaggio al celebre Venus 175 svizzero, vanta una storia ricca che risale alla metà del XX secolo. Realizzato dalla Tianjin Watch Factory utilizzando i macchinari originali degli anni Cinquanta e assemblato interamente a mano, presenta 21 rubini e una solida riserva di carica di 42 ore.

Ciò che rende speciale la versione aggiornata del movimento Seagull ST19 è il Blue Swan Neck Regulator. Questo regolatore a collo di cigno consente una regolazione più fine del movimento, garantendo una precisione superiore nella misurazione del tempo.

Il cronografo meccanico a carica manuale ST1901 funziona a una frequenza di 21.600 alternanze all’ora, con una riserva di carica di circa 42 ore a carica completa.
