Nel 1961, la Tianjin Watch Factory guadagnò fama in Cina per la creazione del primo orologio militare. Successivamente, furono incaricati di un compito ancora più importante: realizzare il primo orologio da aviazione cinese per la Chinese Liberation Army Air Force, conosciuto come il Progetto “d304”.

Per realizzare questo orologio, intrapresero un viaggio in Svizzera, dove acquisirono brevetti e macchinari dal famoso produttore di cronografi Venus per il celebre Venus 175. Dopo anni di sperimentazione, la produzione dell’orologio ufficiale per la Chinese Air Force iniziò nel 1962 e si concluse nel 1963, ispirando il nome di questo straordinario segnatempo.
