UNA BREVE STORIA

Nel 1961, la Tianjin Watch Factory divenne celebre in Cina per aver prodotto il primo orologio militare del Paese. In seguito, le venne affidato un compito storico: creare il primo orologio da aviazione cinese per l’Aeronautica dell’Esercito Popolare di Liberazione, conosciuto come progetto “d304”.

Per sviluppare questo cronografo, un team di ingegneri cinesi si recò in Svizzera, dove acquisì brevetti e macchinari del movimento Venus 175, un celebre cronografo meccanico a ruota a colonne. Tornati in Cina, iniziarono un intenso periodo di sperimentazione e perfezionamento.

La produzione ufficiale dell’orologio per i piloti militari iniziò nel 1962 e si concluse nel 1963. Da qui nasce il nome “Seagull 1963”.

Il modello 38mm rappresenta la versione più fedele all’originale indossato dai piloti. Oggi, possedere un Seagull 1963 38mm significa indossare un’icona dell’orologeria cinese, un omaggio autentico alla storia e alla tradizione dell’aviazione.

L’ANIMA DELL’OROLOGIO

Il cuore pulsante del Seagull 1963 da 38mm è il movimento meccanico ST1901, un omaggio al leggendario Venus 175 svizzero. Questo movimento cronografico a carica manuale è interamente assemblato a mano nella Tianjin Watch Factory, utilizzando i macchinari originali degli anni ’50 acquisiti dalla Svizzera.

Dotato di 21 rubini e di una riserva di carica di circa 42 ore, lo ST1901 batte a una frequenza di 21.600 alternanze all’ora, garantendo precisione e affidabilità. La sua struttura con ruota a colonne assicura un azionamento fluido delle funzioni cronografiche.
